I believe in the power of cooking to build community. Around the kitchen table, at the grill, campfire, and neighborhood potluck, the meals I serve friends and family create the fabric of my life.
By extension I’ve always thought of the audience I cook for as a content creator as part of my community, too.
Working at Yummly, the recipe app and website, and Sunset magazine, I’ve served up inspiring stories, delicious and rock-solid recipes, gorgeous photos and videos, and reliable cooking tools.
Classic home cooking, seasonal cooking, health and wellness, and cooking outdoors are some of my favorite themes. I love profiling cooks and creating helpful how-to content.
Over the years I’ve been recognized for some passion projects. Sunset The Great Outdoors Cookbook, which I co-edited, won an award from the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Two articles I wrote, about gourmet backpacking and pie-making, were IACP finalists. And a big team project that I originated, "Welcome to Camp Sunset," where we took some intrepid readers camping, won a Henry R. Luce award.
Home is Palo Alto, California where I live with my husband and our pampered cat. In efforts to go green we recently traded in our old gas-hungry Wedgewood stove for a sleek induction range.​
